About Redmond Therapy Group
We are a small, collaborative group practice providing services to adolescents, young adults and adults. Our unique office is designed to provide a calm, safe environment for our clients to engage with their therapist.
Our therapists understand the decision to seek professional help is not easy for clients; we strive to build a trusting relationship with our clients using empathy, active listening and when appropriate humor. We feel once a trusting relationship is formed clients become more willing to make changes, as they feel supported and understood.
Meet our Therapists
Marcy Feinstein,
MSW, LICSW
I believe it is the client who decides the therapeutic path and as in life, no two people will experience the same path in therapy. Every client’s treatment is designed for them based on their needs and place in life. I utilize different treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing Techniques, Strength-Based and Narrative to help each client build on their strengths, strategies and build a healthy path forward.
I have had the pleasure to work with clients as young as 7 to as old as 65. I enjoy being a guide to my clients, watching them grow and learn new things while facing their challenges head-on and obtaining their personal goals. Most of my experience is in working with adolescents and young adults, helping them in times of transition and finding themselves.
Janise Zayas,
MSW, LICSW
Helping clients get back to feeling more in control of their emotions, their relationships or whatever therapy goals they may have is a partnership that I commit to wholeheartedly no matter the length of time I see them. I have previously worked in short term psychiatric inpatient hospitals, emergency rooms and on crisis teams so I have learned extensively on how to forge quick connections with people and begin building trust in ways that help my clients feel both at ease and safe. I have utilized a wide variety of treatment modalities in the field while working with so many populations but I specialize in Motivational Interviewing, Brief Dynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative.
Working with a wide range of age groups from the very young, at just 6 years of age, through the well experienced at 60 and older, I have learned a wealth of knowledge and found common struggles between even the young and old. I very much enjoy watching all of my clients heal, form new partnerships, take new chances and grow as people. My hope is to always make sure each of my clients feels that they have met their goals but can also reach out for help again in the future if they need to and there’s nothing wrong with that. Mental health is a journey, not a destination.
Joanne Nguyen,
MSW, LSWAIC
I strive to provide a safe, inviting, and supportive space for individuals to gain the insight and skills they need in order to make the changes they seek. I believe that the process of therapy should be a collaborative one, with the client seen as the “expert” on their life and the understanding that there is no “one size fits all” in the process of healing. I work alongside clients to help them realize their own strengths and open themselves to new ways of thinking. As a therapist, my goal is to empower families, couples, and individuals and help them develop confidence in their abilities to overcome any difficulties they are experiencing. A graduate of the University of Washington’s School of Social Work Master’s degree program, my approach is Client-Centered and Solutions-Focused Therapy.
Matt Markell,
MA, LMHC
I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State, and work with individuals and families (ages 14 and older). I obtained my Master’s Degree in Individual and Family Therapy from George Fox University, located in Newberg, Oregon in 2006. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health and private practice.
My areas of focus for therapy include the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, stress management, family therapy, life transitions, personal growth, spiritual exploration and healing from religious/spiritual trauma. I provide an LGBTQIA+-friendly environment for individual and family therapy treatment.
Therapeutic Approach
I am an Experiential therapist. This clinical orientation comes from the Experiential-Symbolic school of therapy as pioneered, primarily, by the works and writings of Carl Whitaker and Virginia Satir.
While I employ the use of effective therapeutic tools provided by the Cognitive Behavioral therapeutic model, the Experiential orientation to therapy extends deeper into the exploration of personal narratives, personal growth, self-awareness, finding healing for old wounds and practicing inner reconciliation as necessary and vital components for healing and growth.
Providing a new and healing experience of yourself during the therapy session is one of the goals of Experiential therapy. In this sense it is important that both therapist and client work together in a collaborative way toward the successful completion of your treatment plan goals.
In addition to Experiential Therapy, I utilize insights and techniques from Mindfulness practices, Jungian Depth Psychology, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I also contribute some of my own journaling techniques that I have cultivated and used with clients to help guide them to a deeper and fuller understanding of themselves, as well as learning how to extend more healing and compassion to those parts of themselves that have experienced woundedness and shame.
Carmant Desai, LMHC
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has expertise in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, work stress, relationship issues and all the myriad of things that weigh on us in everyday life. I have a background in crisis and inpatient care. I am also an Army veteran that has worked with not only other vets but also their families in issues related to PTSD or about time in service. Primarily my modalities center around Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. However, I strive to meet my clients wherever they are in their therapeutic journey and I am willing to make adjustments to match my modality with their individual needs. My overall goal is to provide a supportive and welcoming space that helps my clients begin or reconnect to therapy with the peace of mind that they will be met with a compassionate understanding that encourages them to return.
Meet our Team
Sarah Chancey,
Office Manager / Billing
I have been working in the mental health environment for the past 5 years as an office administrator and biller. During this time, I have learned how to best support our diverse clientele with helping them navigate and understand their insurance, including their out-of-pocket expense, setting up appointments and assisting with communication between client and therapist. I have great respect for our client’s therapeutic journey and my goal is to assist our therapists to the best of my ability, so each therapist is able to provide our client’s with the best possible care.

How Does it Work?
No one can tell you when you’re ready for therapy. When you feel ready, we make it a simple and painless process. All you need to do is…
